Catalog plus
The "Catalog plus" is a single portal that allows you to access all the resources that are available at or licensed by the university. The search input is designed to be as simple as possible, much like a Google search box. The search engine has standard extra features such as faceted search and drill-down options that allow you to quickly narrow your search, e.g., by year and author. Important functions such as targeted search by field or location-specific search criteria are also available.

The catalog's content is based on a local index that includes all cataloged title and inventory data from the Freiburg University Library, affiliated institutes, and numerous other libraries (e.g., the Freiburg University of Education Library, the Caritas Library, and the libraries of the Protestant University for Applied Sciences Freiburg and the Catholic University of Applied Sciences Freiburg).
In addition, e-books from national licensing- and royalty-free electronic resources (LFERs) are also available.
There aren't many records of individual articles here, but there is an exhaustive database of periodical titles.
For local holdings, the Freiburg lending system is queried for information on availability, and the status is displayed in the catalog listing.
Articles & more
We offer a 'global index' (the EBSCO company's EDS index) called "Articles & more". This contains several hundred million (!) records of articles from journals, newspapers, etc. This index can also retrieve most of the available metadata on national licenses. Some full texts are also included in this index.
Search results are sorted according to relevance, but can also be sorted by date.
