Corona pandemic

You can borrow and return media previously ordered in the Katalog plus.

Loans are available Mon–Fri 10 am–6 pm (last admission: 5.45 pm) as follows:

• You order holdings from the closed or open stacks in the Katalog plus via your library account (with the option "notification by mail").
• After receiving the notification email, you can borrow the books on the next opening day on the 1. basement of the UB via the self-checkout with your PIN.

The collection of late fees is suspended until 2021-03-07. The fee procedure will be resumed on the 8th calendar day after the comprehensive reopening of the University Library (for learning and lending purposes). (The day of the reopening is not counted). To avoid late fees for media whose loan period expires before the University Library reopens, please also be sure to use the option to extend the loan period via the Katalog plus.

The study spaces and reading rooms of the University Library as well as the campus libraries will remain closed until 2021-03-07.

Entrance and exit are separate. Access is via Platz der Universität 2 (revolving door east). The exit is via Milchstraße (revolving door west).

• Please observe the usual spacing rules.
• Access to the library only permitted with medical mask. Alternatively, FFP2 masks (or comparable) can be worn.
• Please note that only a limited number of people may enter the lending area.
• Please limit the time you spend in the library to what is necessary.

As a reaction to the closure of the University Library and all campus libraries due to the Corona crisis, we have expanded our digital services. Here you will find information on newly added electronic offers on an ongoing basis.

During the restrictions in the University Library and in the campus libraries caused by the Corona pandemic, it is possible for members of the University of Freiburg to order articles from journals and collective works from the holdings of the UB and the campus libraries free of charge. Interlibrary loan requests are processed within the framework of Corona-related restrictions.
