Media Centre

As part of the University Library, the Media Centre supports studies, teaching and research by providing services relating to media production, media literacy and digital teaching.

Media workstations

The Media Centre is equipped with a high-performance infrastructure for the production, editing and use of audiovisual media. This includes video, sound and podcast studios, as well as video and audio editing suites.

Equipment loan

Members of the university can borrow equipment from the Media Service desk (3rd floor, Parlatorium) to produce media resources for research and teaching projects.

Media Production

The Media Centre produces video documentaries, audio podcasts, explanatory films and educational videos for the faculties and institutions of the University of Freiburg.

Consulting service

The Media Centre offers personalised advice for university projects that involve the use of audiovisual media. This advice covers the entire process, from concept to implementation. Professional media training sessions to help prepare for press and interview requests are provided on request.

Training Courses

The Media Center promotes media literacy through a diverse portfolio of practical courses and by deliver hands-on trainings as part of various degree programmes.

uniCROSS

At uniCROSS, an education editorial team, students learn how to present topics for a young audience using video, audio and text. The results are published on uniFM 88.4 radio, on social media and on the uniCROSS website. Students can join the team at any time.

Digital Teaching and Video Portal

The Media Centre operates the university-wide Panopto video portal and supports digital teaching. Its features include live streaming and automated event recording with integration into the Ilias learning platform.
