Long-term lockers and lockers in the reading rooms

Members of the University of Freiburg can use the lockers in the reading rooms and the long-term lockers. Study materials, borrowed books, etc. can be stored here for up to three months.

Please note that this service is only available to members of the University of Freiburg. Many thanks.

Lockers in the reading rooms

Lockers are available in Reading Rooms 1, 2 and 3. They can be used for a period of three months.

Deadline and return

You can use a locker for a period of three months. Extensions are not permitted.

If the deadline for the locker has expired or you no longer need the locker, you can hand the chip in when the information desk on the ground floor is open.

If you exceed the deadline, the fees listed in the library charges policy (Bibliotheksgebührenordnung, BiblGebO) will be due.

Availability and login

You can check whether lockers in the reading rooms are available via the link below. If a locker is available, you can make an enquiry at the information desk on the ground floor of the University Library. If all lockers are in use, you can reserve one. To do this, log in with your university account.

Reserving several lockers at a time extends the waiting time for all users, so you cannot reserve another locker if you are already using, or have reserved, a locker in the reading room or a long-term locker. If this rule is violated, we will delete duplicate reservations.
