How do I use a camera, a microphone, light and shadow? How do I edit a video? How do I make a good sound recording? We offer courses for everyone on a semester basis (registration below) - and also extra courses for groups on request.
All members of the university can participate in our courses free of charge.
The courses can also be attended independently of each other.
Note for lecturers: Recommend our introductory courses to your students as a supplement to your course.

Cross-media means using video, audio, text and images correctly, composing them in the best possible way and presenting them cleverly. At uniTV, uniFM88,4 and uniONLINE, all students and academics can receive journalistic training in media communication. All three media converge in the web presentation - neither radio nor TV can exist without a website and social media presence. Here you acquire key qualifications for many later professional activities.
Current contributions, broadcasts and the uniFM live stream can be found on the uniCROSS website.
Media literacy is the ability to use media according to one's own needs and purposes and to deal with them responsibly. This applies to both consumption and production.
The term media literacy comprises the four pillars of media criticism, media studies, media use and media design.
Media literacy, along with management competence, communication competence, IT competence and foreign language competence, are among the central areas of competence that are in demand on the labour market in addition to academic expertise.
The UB Media Centre is unique in Germany with this concept. Our task and our goal is to promote media literacy throughout the University of Freiburg.
You have a media project, but you are not quite sure what the result should look like, what the message of the whole thing should be and how best to make it? We can advise you on the concept and implementation.
Are you being asked for interviews by television, radio, online platforms or print media? We explain to you what you need to bear in mind when in contact with the media and do media training with you.
Please feel free to contact us.
