Cloakroom lockers

Cloakroom lockers are situated in the foyer. Here you can lock up your jackets, bags and food during your visit to the library.

How it works

Here you can lock up your jackets, bags and food during your visit to the Library.

If you would like to lock up your bag, we provide baskets. You can comfortably carry water in lockable bottles, your own books and study materials as well as your laptop and laptop bag in them.

The cloakroom lockers can be used for a maximum of 12 hours. You will be locked out of your locker if you exceed this time limit. We charge a EUR 3.00 fee at the information desk to have the locker opened for you.

Hold your library card up to the terminal until the “Schrank belegbar” (“Locker available”) message appears.

Look for an empty locker and place your belongings inside it.

Close the door and hold your library card up against the marked position on the lock. The LEDs will turn green.

Once the LEDs have turned green, you can turn the handle from a vertical to a horizontal position to lock the locker.

Please make a note of your locker number.

To open the locker, hold your library card up against the marked position on your locker’s lock. The LEDs will turn green and the handle will slide from a horizontal to a vertical position.

Stuck?

Hold your library card up against the terminal. A message will appear stating which locker is yours and how long you have until you need to open the locker.

First, hold your library card up against the terminal to activate the locker.

Cloakroom lockers allocated to daily guests (1–45) and long-term lockers (2098–2517) cannot be locked using your library card.
