Use your UniCard as your library card.
To activate your UniCard, log in to your University Library account using your university account or visit us at the information desk. You can now manage all activity in your University Library account.
If you register at the information desk, you will receive a PIN for the self-checkout system. Please do not keep this number with your library card as you will be held liable for any misuse of your University Library account.
If you used the University Library before enrolling at the university, please now switch to using your UniCard. Bring your UniCard to the information desk in the University Library.
Staff can apply for their UniCard via the university’s HR department.
Visit us at the University Library’s information desk to register. The staff at the desk will issue you with a library card.
We will need your ID or passport and official proof of residence.
You will have to pay a one-off fee of EUR 12.00 for your card. The following groups are exempt from paying this fee:
You can borrow a wide range of media from the University Library with your library card, as long as you fulfil the following conditions:
Even if none of the aforementioned criteria apply to you, we will be happy to issue you with a library card so that you can use our media in the reading rooms.
If you are underage, a legal guardian or a guarantor will need to sign the declaration of guarantee on the registration form.

In addition to your personal library account, you have the option of opening a second account for your student associates. They will borrow media for you through this library account. You fill out the registration form yourself with the note "Hiwi-Konto" and thus assume responsibility for the borrowed media. To create the account at the information desk, authentication is required either personally or by an authorized person.

Visit us at the information desk in the University Library to activate the University of Education Card.
