New information on Open Science: an overview of Open Access, Open Data and Open Educational Resource
By adopting its new Open Science Policy, the University of Freiburg has acknowledged the importance of Open Science as a key element of its own scientific culture and as an integral part of good scientific practice. The term covers various practices that make scientific research findable, accessible, interoperable and reusable worldwide. It is based on the fundamental principles of transparency, reproducibility, reusability and open communication.
In a new section on Open Science on the homepage of the University Library, researchers at the University of Freiburg and interested members of the public can now find comprehensive information on Open Science and related topics such as Open Access, Research Data / Open Data and Open Educational Resources in German and English. In addition to the already well-established functionalities concerning Open Access publishing, users can expect background information on the legal and infrastructural requirements of Open Science and Open Access, on Research Data Management at the University of Freiburg and on resources for working with open teaching and learning materials.
